ALLERGIES, THE SKIN AS A BIOSENSOR, IMMEDIATE SPOT [PALPATION] TESTS FOR FOOD ALLERGENS

Allergies today, particularly food allergens, remain today a grand impediment to the healing process.
As early as the 1980's, cytotoxic food testing showed how food allergens can reduce a patient's immune status by as much as sixty per cent. Food allergens compromise the immune system by making it so busy fighting off daily ingested products, more subtle but persistent infections go unnoticed, like rotten teeth, smoldering appendices, and fuming tonsils. The immune system in today's dietary is overwhelmed with restaurant products, grocery store chemicals, and culinary toxins, while scant cancer cells are ignored and allowed to grow and do their bidding.

The methodology of a cytotoxic reaction reveals a known microscopic evaluation of allergic reaction. The sensitized white blood cells react with a specific allergen (purified food antigen in a near homeopathic dilution, 1-2x). The purified antigen and blood are mixed on a glass slide, What happens in 30 minutes is an allergic reaction which is a combination delayed (Type IV) and immediate (Type I) hypersensitivity reaction. Allergic reactions are read under a light microscope at 400x power. The results are graded as negative (same as negative control), plus 1, plus 2, plus 3 and plus 4.   Additionally, in the body, a neurogenic inflammation reaction occurs after stimulation of afferent nerves with histamine or other mediators. Stimulation of afferent [sympathetic] nerves becomes part of neural reflexes to the central nerve system which can then reflex to the dermatomes and myotomes. Just like constriction of the coronary vessels leads to angina, with dermatome activation giving pains in the neck, chest, and left arm, food allergen sensitivity from the gut can lead to abdominal pains, changes in blood sugar, and persistent hypersenstive spots on the skin and sinews. Parasympathic efferent fibers mediate as the second part of the reflexes by changes in the mucosal thickness, by increasing superficial blood flow and regulating pr disturbing glandular activity [as in blood sugar regulation].

A typical cytoxic reaction. Antigen [food particle] contacts the WBC. A reaction occurs, causing spillage of cytokines and local irritation.

If the allergenic food is ingested daily, like cheese, eggs and tomato sauce, then persistent irritation leads to sore spots [ah-shi points in acupuncture terminology] and trigger points. It is a summation effect. Continued irritation leads to certain predictable tender spots [geloses and myogeloses] as a result of the type of allergenic reaction. It is hard wired into our genetic structure, as homeopathic provings down through the last century have elucidated.

The ELISA  Food Allergy Test is another type based on using an Enzyme Linked Immunosorbant Assay (ELISA) which measures the presence of both IgG and Immune Complexes against a wide variety of food, food additive and dye antigens in a patient's serum. A patient serum is added to the plate and their antibodies to both IgG and Immune Complexes (analyte) bind to the allergen(s). The plate is washed and an enzyme conjugate is added that recognizes the bound antibodies of both IgG and Immune Complexes. After incubation and washing, substrate is added to visualize the bound antibodies of both IgG and Immune Complexes. The amount of optical density is proportional to the amount of bound antibody to IgG and Immune Complex. A report depicting these reactions is plotted as a simple bar graph which is used to interpret. Again, however, the actual immune-allergenic response mobilizes the autonomic nervous system and accounts for many well know reactions of food allergens - flushed skin, dizziness, colic, migraine, nausea, weakness, etc.

What is not known to many is that the old homeopaths long ago proved the reactions of allergic foods on sensitive patients. By giving drop wise doses of food extracts to patients or medical students days on end, symptoms were noted as 'provings', and added to the materia medica. For example, for the ordinary tomato, we find as early as 1927 the following:

LYCOPERSICUM ESCULENTUM
Tomato Provings

General Symptoms: Marked symptoms of rheumatism [muscle aches] and susceptiblity to colds and influenza. Severe aching pains all over body.Pains left after influenza. Head always shows signs of acute, sinus congestion. Hay-fever, with marked aggravation from breathing the least dust. Profuse watery diarrhÏa [irritable bowel syndrome].

Head.--Bursting pain, beginning in occiput and spreading all over the head [cluster headaches]. Whole head and scalp feels sore, bruised, after pain has ceased.

Eyes.-- Eyes suffused, puffy.

Nose.--Profuse, watery coryza; drops down throat triggering cough. Itching in anterior chamber; worse, breathing any dust; better, indoors. (One of the most common symptoms of hay fever).

Respiratory.-- Hoarseness; constant desire to clear throat. Expulsive cough, deep and harsh.

Extremities.-- Dull pain in lumbar region. Sharp pain in right deltoid and pectoralis muscles. Pain deep in middle of the right arm.

Homeopathic [Neutralizing] Dose.--Third to thirtieth potency.

Comments: Hay fever affects a significant portion of today's urban population. With wide spread consumption of pizzas, ketsup, and tomatoes in all kinds of food stuffs, it is obvious that the population as a whole is proving the symptoms by over consumption of this daily food item. People may be allergic by way of genetic susceptiblity; but further may become so by induced into allergy over consumption of tomatoes, its sauces and products.

The author has discovered and researched that the provings lead to well known sore spots on our patients. Dr. Weihe was the first to show that homeopathic remedies and even a few essential oils eradicated consistent sore spots and could be used as part of the symptomatology of the indicated remedy. The sore spots are precisely acupuncture points.

Tomato, is a right sided remedy! Curious as to what is on the left?

Dr. Weihe, having noted that with certain clinical signs there corresponds a particular homeopathic remedy, there appears a certain painful point upon the skin. This point covers a small surface upon the skin and disappears with the administration of the remedy.  The appearance of the painful point is consistently the same with the set of symptoms particular to an indicated remedy.  The value of these points is in the fact that it can be used diagnostically, as a further verification for the administration of a homeopathic remedy.

What this means is that we can use the language of the body, and the skin as a biosensor, to identify allergenic foods that affect our patient's health. We need not spend time and money on expensive laboratory tests unless absolutely necessary. Since most allergens people develop are those foods they eat nearly everyday, we have a rapid test for identifying food allergens. Just palpate the point, if it is sore, and their symptoms agree with the provings, as in a hay fever patient that loves pizzas, the answer is very straight forward: stop eating tomatoes for six weeks, to take the memory out of the immune system, then only once weekly for the rest of your life!  Ignore this, then take cancer on the installment plan!

Now of course, since we can find allergenic foods by palpation, we can also identify therapeutic foods by the ELECTRODERMAL SCREENING TEST.  When we find pathological measurements on hypoesthesic acu-points, using the typical Voll type meter, by having the patient favor certain fruits and vegetables (and their juices), we find the patient's condition improve and the pathological measurement disappears, usually within 1-2 weeks. For example, we find indicator drops on MP. Liver Cell, we administer raw carrot juice daily for one week, and then the indicator drop disappears, then we know we made the right selection for liver cleansing. When this finding is consistent on a body of patients, then we record it as indicated.

The author has made detailed studies of these points and has some added advice to acupuncturists. Consider the failed treatment when cookbook acupuncture formulas are used on our patients. For example, consider the persistent pains of endometriosis. A well known point for that condition isYin-chiao  (Cov-7). This is the Wiehe point for Podophyllum, also curiously indicated for endometriosis and uterine pains. Podophyllum patients are made decidely worse by milk, and drinking milk, even a spoonful in a cup of tea or coffee, may decidedly block the action of the well chosen remedy or acupuncture effect. Now consider how an acupuncture patient may or may not respond to well selected points while the patient is not instructed to stop drinking milk, all forms, and not even touch a single drop,  including those in cookies, pastries, and other confections! Common sense points to the neuro-immunological connections, made as early as the 1900's, yet no one has put together the BIG PICTURE, until today!

Patients with tenderness at Cov-7, are podophyllum patients.
Patients with tenderness at Cov-7, are sensitive/allergic to milk products.
Patients with tenderness at Cov-7, are an active Yin-chiao patient that can invoke deqi.
Patients with tenderness at Cov-7 are especially adapted to persons of bilious temperament.
Patients with tenderness at Cov-7 usually have Bowels that are inactive; with stools large and hard [provings of podophyllum].

Patients with tenderness at Cov-7 may also have constipation alternating with diarrhea, what we call today irritable bowel syndrome, which can usually be traced to consumption of milk products, i.e. lactose intolerance.
Patients with tenderness at Cov-7 may also have urinary tract infection as part of the indication for using this acu-point.

GET THE POINT!
GET TO THE RESULTS THAT COUNT!

The rules of health are consistent with concepts both ancient and modern. The skin as a biosensor can reveal an enormous amount of information, once we understand the links between the nervous system, internal irritations [immunological/glandular], external irritations [food allergies], and even central disturbances [psychosomatic]. The gut has such enormous neurological responses, some have even called it the enteric nervous system, as a fourth part of the nervous system divisions.

SUMMARY

All internal manifestations may contribute to neurological and vascular responses in the skin. These can be measured.

Dejerine and Guillaume of France in the early 1900's experimentally showed that the different visceral organs were in communication with certain skin zones that could become painful in the affections of these organs = skin expression of the visceral disease that abrahams had called "Endogenetic Skin Reflex".  The nervous stimulus would thus be driven to the one of the numerous nerve centers as a possible reflection from which it would be projected on the skin territory.

They concluded of their studies that:

a) The skin painful zone is in comparison with the projection of the visceral zones on the skin are predictable;
b) That this pain is accompanied with spasm and d' hyperesthesia (painful spot);

C) The dermatomes (painful skin zones) are topographically radicular [a nerve fiber which joins others to form a nerve upon which they converge upon the spine] and ganglionic.  The myotomes are also radicular and can participate in the orchestration of painful spots [trigger points].

Homeopathic provings are essentially poisonings. The poisoning by a drug [diluted homeopathic], first manifest as neurological symptoms, and further continue to immunological hypersensitivity reactions; both not to the betterment of the prover. Provings contribute to pain syndromes andautonomic dystonia, contributed to faulty autonomic steering, and thus glandular malfunctions, both nutritive and hormonal; and neuromuscular [sore spots]. Eatint the same foods, day-in and day-out, are essentially poisonings.

The reactions to foods and food groups (breads, sweets, liquors), are well known to homeopathy. By matching the provings of sore spots, remedies, and reactions, the author has made detailed composite charts of food hypersensitivities in relation to identified acupuncture points. These charts are made for clinical expediency. Further, dead spots, where summative irritations lead to spots of hypoesthesia, can be measured electrodermally, and therapeutic foods identified. This also applies to vitamins, minerals, homeopathics, and herbal remedies.
